  • Reading...

So, I've read a few books so far this year!

Here is what I have to take back to the library:

"Holly" by Jude Deveraux -- I like whatever this lady writes.

"Eleven On Top" by Janet Evanovich -- I have to keep up with what Stephanie Plum is up to!

"A Case of Bad Taste" and "A Case of Nosy Neighbors" by Lori Copeland -- these two were nice easy reads... I like that for books to take to work and read on my lunch time.

And, I picked up a few books at Meijer's with a gift card I had:

"S is for Silence" by Sue Grafton -- I had read all the others up to this, so of course I had to have this one!  It was pretty dang good....

"Be My Valentine" by Debbie Macomber -- currently reading.  Two stories in this one.  My Mom is not so patiently waiting for me to finish it!  (I needed a fluffy romance to read!)

"First Impressions" by Jude Deveraux -- waiting in the wings!

I've also been doing some stitching, and sewing on my quilt blocks.  And, of course there is family, and work.  Rick is now unemployed, and wants to move back home.  So.... we are in the process of de-cluttering the basement.  He told me I was a 'pack-rat'.  Nice thing to say to his mother!!  I think we are at the limit for trash pickup for the next couple of weeks!  --And the Good Will is getting lots of 'stuff'!

    That's it until later....

  • Monday, Monday...

    Just another day in Wonderland....

Hold on for venting!  It really is crappy to get old!  Went to the Dr. last week for follow up on blood work.  I'm thinking they will tell me my cholesterol is back in check.  Okay... the cholesterol is better, but I have Type II Diabetes!  Bummer!  Now Chuck is being the food police.  Gave Rick all the 'goodies' in the house for him to take home.      I have medication to take, no injections (thank you), and have to 'test' my blood every day.  I have my own monitor (yippee ?), and stuff.  Now I have to make sure to eat breakfast everyday.  I thought getting up at 4ish was bad to go to work, but, now I get up a half hour earlier, so I can have my little bowl of Cheerios -- with NO sugar!

Is that all?  Oh no!  I have what they call 'trigger finger' on the middle finger of my left hand.  She (Dr.) tells me that she will refer me to the hand surgeon.  Surgeon????  I thought it was arthritis!!  Okay... will call for the appointment, but, no way are they cutting into my hand during golf season!  It can wait until fall if I can put up with it!

Today I'm going back to the Dr. to have another lump removed from the top of my knee.  It wouldn't be so bad, but, I keep taking the top of it off when shaving my legs, and I'm not waiting until it takes 18 stitches to close like the other one!  I'm picking Becca up from school, so she can drive me home from the Dr.  Should only have a band-aid on it.

I've been playing golf every Tuesday.  We've only gotten rained on once.  I really like my new golf clubs.    Should be a hot one tomorrow tho... I'll have Judy drive the cart really fast!

Stitching...  I've been stitching on a few exchanges I've signed up for, and I finished up Ladybugs and Bumblebees by CCN.  I've got to press and measure it, so I can order up my frame from BIL Tim.  I think it will look good with a 'white-wash' frame.

That's it for now... Off to stitch the day away!

  • Is it spring yet?

Not much other than the normal everyday stuff.  I spent yesterday with my mother.  We went and planted flowers on the graves of family members.  Not too bad of a day.  The sun was shining and it wasn't too cold.

I plan on staying around the house as much as possible today, and just resting.  I'm whipped from yesterday.  Maybe I'll pull a few weeds outside, read some, or stitch.  I've already gone and had my hair cut this morning.  Should be good for at least until the middle of June!

    Off to get more coffee....

  • Long time -- no post!!!

It's been awhile since I've posted!

I've been doing quite a bit of stitching, and I did get a few books read. I also purchased a new golf bag and clubs!!!! Yeah!! I am sooo ready for golf season! So, yesterday I'm ready to play and what does it do??? It rains!!! Okay, so usually I don't mind playing in a little rain, but, not with my new clubs and bag! Wimpy, aren't I? Well, we didn't play. Next week we better have nice weather!!

You can check out my stitching on my blog: Myrna's Blog
